Downtown Edge is a new neighborhood of townhouses between Downtown Anchorage and the Alaska Railroad to the north. The project activates an underused site in the city center and is the first step in a larger urban revitalization effort to include residential, commercial, recreational, and community spaces on Alaska Railroad land.

The site design employs a creative combination of terracing and staggering to ensure that each townhouse benefits from both personal privacy and expansive sunset views across Knik Arm to Mt. Susitna. A pedestrian pathway between buildings links Anchorage’s beloved Coastal Trail to the Alaska Railway Depot.

The homes themselves are finished in a modern industrial style, with a variety of floor plans to meet a range of price points. Private outdoor decks and floor-to-ceiling windows ensure maximal benefit from the site’s western exposure.
