Tidelands is a site-specific installation located at the port of Anchorage. As part of the Anchorage Museum Design Week this installation envisions positive futures for the North and to create public art that explores responses to climate change.

Tidelands encourages visitors to examine the city’s relationship and individuals relationship with the ocean, its tides and the port of Anchorage via a distinct viewing point.

A ramp wedged between two 40′ shipping containers wrapped in fabric leads the visitor up to a viewing platform. The drastic change in low and high tide that surround Anchorage,  the second highest tides in North America, are graphically illustrated for the period of the installation .
